Yolande IDE (1931). Female nude. Terracotta with brown patin - Lot 108
Yolande IDE (1931). Female nude. Terracotta with brown patina. Height: 36 cm. Width: 34 x 40 cm. Yolande Ide was born in 1931. She was the wife of Léon Ide, the great architect of the Belgian coastal town of De Haan, who designed the "Astoria" and "Joli Bois" hotels in Le Coq, among others. In 1950, Yvonne Ide enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. She then secretly took up sculpture in a private circle, amassing works in the family home. Living in a privileged environment, money was not the driving force behind her creativity, and her pieces were never exhibited to the public.
