Antonio LUCARDA (1904-1993).
Antonio LUCARDA (1904-1993). Pair of gouaches offered by the artist to Princess Elizabeth Chavchavade representing two views of Venice where we recognize the Polignac Palace, the first floor of which was occupied by the princely couple Georges and Elizabeth Chavchavadze-Ridgway. This Venetian painter, watercolourist and sculptor was one of the artistic relations of Princess Elisabeth Chavchavadze. They rubbed shoulders in Venice when the Princess occupied the Palais Polignac. He also produced two bronze busts representing the Princess and a plaster bust representing the Countess Hélène de Breteuil which are part of this session. Included is a souvenir photo of the Palace and the Princess having lunch on the balcony with guests. The Princess, classy, is at the back of the photo with her hands crossed. Dimensions: 45 x 30 cm. (Chips on the edge of a frame).
