"La Vittoria". A monumental life-size marble depicting a fam - Lot 99
"La Vittoria". A monumental life-size marble depicting a family celebrating victory. But beyond the triumph, it's the jubilation caused by the reunion of a long-awaited loved one that this masterpiece of early 20th-century Italian sculpture illustrates. In the frame of a window opening onto an imaginary street, the seven happy members of an Italian family can be seen watching for the arrival of the victorious soldier. In the background is the patriarch, with the emotional mother to his right and the wife smiling with a tender expression on her face. Leaning against the ledge, the young children wave banners and wreaths in honor of their hero father. In the center, the youngest child is carried away by the collective joy. This scene could be linked to the famous Vittorio Veneto victory of October-November 1918, which led to the armistice that ended the war on the Italian front. Height: 110 cm. Width: 72 cm. Depth: 43 cm.
