In addition to numerous period postcards illustrating the monument, the daily La Dernière Heure of October 13, 1950 devoted its front page to it. There were also other mentions in major newspapers of the period (Gazet van Antwerpen) and La Nation of June 18, 1956, which reported that His Majesty King Baudouin was meditating in front of the monument. Height: 61 cm. Provenance: Artist's studio. Collection of the Vandevoorde family since the mid-60s (the spelling of the family name has no space in the civil registry). We enclose a certificate of authenticity and provenance signed by Mr. and Mrs. Vandevoorde, the artist's grandchildren.
