Historical memories. Le Page. Paris. Early 19th century. Coffret-cassette, pistol set, early 19th century. The case contains a pair of percussion pistols with octagonal barrels in cast steel signed LE PAGE ARQer DU ROY in gold and numbered 1 and 2 respectively. Rosewood mounts, numbered 5154 (engraved), finely carved with a scallop shell at the tip, stocks finely notched with small lozenges and pommels with carved laurels ending in a steel plate also engraved with laurels. Steel trigger guard engraved with a fruit bowl adjoins an engraved steel plate decorated with armor and quivers with a new gold signature "Le Page à Paris". The cassette is complete with a copper powder case, steel bullet molding tongs (also numbered 5154), a rosewood hammer and screwdriver (stamped Lepage), and four cleaning rods. Elegant burr-walnut case with brass fillets, original steel key. The lid is embellished with an inlay of interlaced initials and a crowned tiger's mouth surmounting an engraved brass crescent moon. Interior in turquoise velvet with compartments for pistols and accessories, trimmed in gold-embossed red leather. Case dimensions: 28 x 44 x 9 cm.
