Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912). KIMURA TOUN. Important bronze okimoko in the form of an unfurled dragon, its sinuous body, sharp claws holding the sacred sphere and a covered perfume burner, the grip surmounted by a small dragon, symbolizing the transmission of wisdom. Signed in a kakihan "fait par Kimura Toun" N.B. Kimura Toun was a disciple and successor of the foundryman Murata Seimin (1761-1837). The work presented here reveals the sculptor's technical skill in the detail of the scales, facial expressions and movement, revealing the full power of the dragon. Height: 67 cm. Expert : Cabinet Ansas-Papillon-Léry, Paris.
