Georges CORDONNIER and Marie RADIGUET. On January 16, 1880, - Lot 235
Georges CORDONNIER and Marie RADIGUET. On January 16, 1880, Georges CORDONNIER filed a patent in Paris for a statuette doll. This very special model is of the highest quality. First, the bisque parts: head, female bust, arms of 2 different shapes and legs. Underneath the heels, there are two all-pieces for attachment to a pedestal. Once fixed in place, this upright body in extremely fine skin could be dressed in theatrically-inspired silk garments, often in the 18th century style. These garments were designed and produced by Marie RADIGUET, Georges CORDONNIER's partner. Production was limited in time, making this a doll rarely found in high-quality collections today! That's saying a lot... Today, we're delighted to present a model from an attic, asleep for almost 150 years! Expert: Jean Claude Cazenave. Paris. Very well preserved, she is in beautiful used condition, with her cookie parts perfectly preserved (which is essential). This doll is virtually unique and will join a great collection. Don't let it slip away! Height: 40.5 cm.
