Elvire COISNE (1873-1956). Fields of flowers. Oil on canvas. - Lot 90
Elvire COISNE (1873-1956). Fields of flowers. Oil on canvas. A dossier by historian Laurent Stevens is included. Dimensions: 35.5 x 55 cm. Elvire Coisne, born into Ghent society in 1873, was a pupil of Emile Claus. In 1899, she married Eugène Bondue, manager of a soap factory. She had four children. It seems that her husband led her to leave Emile Claus's workshop, putting a stop to her public career. Nevertheless, in 1902 she was exhibited at the Salon Triennal under the name Elvire Coisne-Bondue. The vast majority of her works have remained in the family. Resale rights applicable.
