Yolande IDE (1931). Female nude. White terra-cotta proof. He - Lot 87
Yolande IDE (1931). Female nude. White terra-cotta proof. Height: 28 cm. Width: 36 cm. Yolande Ide was born in 1931. She was the wife of Léon Ide, the great architect of the Belgian coastal town of De Haan, who built the "Astoria" and "Joli Bois" hotels in Le Coq, among others. In 1950, Yvonne Ide enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. She then secretly took up sculpture in a private circle, amassing works in the family home. Living in a privileged environment, money was not the driving force behind her creativity, and her pieces were never exhibited to the public.
