Imposing three-piece gilt bronze set in the Louis XVI style, Napoleon III period. The set consists of a central clock representing the muses of poetry and astronomy seated on either side of a large bronze urn containing the clock mechanism, all resting on a blackened wood base, tortoiseshell veneer and brass marquetry. The dial is also in Boulle style marquetry. The sides are formed by a pair of candelabras with cherubs supporting horns of plenty (missing light arm). Height of the clock : 67 cm. Height of the candelabra : 50 cm.
Imposante 3-delige verguld bronzen sierlijst in Lodewijk XVI-stijl, Napoleon III-periode. De set bestaat uit een centrale klok die de muzen van poëzie en astronomie voorstelt, zittend aan weerszijden van een grote bronzen urne met daarin het mechanisme, allemaal rustend op een houten voet met schildpadfineer en messing inlegwerk. Boulle stijl inlegwerk wijzerplaat ook. De zijkanten worden gevormd door een paar kandelaars met engeltjes die een hoorn des overvloeds ondersteunen (arm van licht ontbreekt). Totale hoogte: 67 cm. Hoogte kandelaar: 50 cm.
