François VIGER (received Master Watchmaker in 1744). Louis XVI period marble clock representing equity. Rich ornamentation of gilded bronzes. Black and white enamel dial, signed in purple by Viger in Paris. This clock was presented at the public sale of antiques at the Galerie Royale on November 28 and 29, 1941. The appraisal of the time attributed the sculpture to the Falconet workshops. Provenance: Private collection of a retired octogenarian antique dealer. Height: 40 cm. Damage to neck and wrist.
