HUMMERSTON BROTHER'S (1839-1887). Aesthetic movement. Set of Arts and Crafts bedroom furniture in natural wood and Japanese lacquer panels composed of : -A bed. -A closet articulated by two mirrored columns opening onto a door and a central box with 7 drawers. -Two chairs. -One bedside cabinet. -Two commodes. On the back are labels from the manufacturer who ceased operations in 1887. An Anglo-Japanese armoire circa 1880 bearing a Hummerston Brothers label can be found at Temple Newam House, Leeds, with the original drawing (Source: Bifmo, la société d'histoire du meuble, https://bifmo.furniturehistorysociety.org/ ). Stains and halos, to be refreshed. One toilet missing: no mirror and missing marble returns on the shelf.
